Responsibilities

<ul><li>Lead technical design for ISV engagements, defining data models, access patterns, indexing and integration approaches</li><li>Design MongoDB as a supported option alongside Oracle, PostgreSQL or SQL Server, covering persistence abstraction and feature parity</li><li>Plan coexistence architectures and migration paths, including synchronization, dual-run strategies, validation and cutover</li><li>Run design reviews and review schemas, queries, indexes and code against realistic workloads</li><li>Design for Atlas, Enterprise Advanced, Kubernetes private clouds and air-gapped on-prem environments</li><li>Create reusable architecture patterns, migration playbooks and code templates</li><li>Prototype critical paths and act as the escalation point for Forward Deployed Engineers</li></ul>

Requirements & qualifications

<ul><li>8+ years of backend engineering and application architecture experience on shipped software products</li><li>Deep MongoDB knowledge from the application side, including modeling, transactions, replication, sharding and sizing</li><li>Experience integrating a new database into a large codebase, with CDC or dual-write patterns and incremental rollout</li><li>Experience designing production migrations between relational databases and MongoDB</li><li>SaaS knowledge such as multi-tenancy, versioned schemas and various cloud or on-prem deployment models</li><li>Ability to influence engineers without formal authority and explain trade-offs clearly</li><li>Willingness to travel regularly to partner locations</li></ul>
