About the role

IBM Cloud Adoption Services Chennai is hiring 2025-2026 fresher interns for the emerging FinOps practice — helping enterprise clients reduce cloud bills by 20-40% through Apptio, CloudHealth and native cloud cost tooling.

Cloud bills are now the #2 line item in most enterprise IT budgets, and FinOps — the practice of optimising cloud spend — is the fastest-growing cloud specialisation of 2026. IBM Chennai is opening fresher slots in its FinOps team that supports global banking, retail and healthcare clients across AWS, Azure and GCP. You will spend 6 weeks in paid training on the FinOps Framework (FinOps Foundation Certified Practitioner), then start analysing client cloud bills, identifying waste, and recommending Reserved Instance / Savings Plan strategies that save millions.

Responsibilities

Analyse AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management and GCP Billing exports. Build cost-optimisation dashboards on Apptio Cloudability and CloudHealth. Identify zombie EC2 instances, oversized RDS, unattached EBS and right-sizing opportunities. Model Reserved Instance and Savings Plan commitments for clients. Write monthly client-facing cost-optimisation reports.

Requirements & qualifications

BE / BTech / BCom / MCA / MBA passout 2025 or 2026 with 65%+. Strong Excel and SQL. Basic understanding of public cloud services (any one). Analytical mindset and comfort with numbers. Good written English for client reports. AWS Cloud Practitioner or Azure Fundamentals certification is a plus.
