About the role

Hexaware Chennai is hiring 2025-2026 freshers for the Platform Engineering practice — building Internal Developer Platforms using Crossplane and Backstage for global insurance and healthcare clients.

Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs) are the #1 platform-engineering pattern of 2026, with Backstage (originally from Spotify) and Crossplane (CNCF incubation) as the two anchor tools. Hexaware's Chennai Platform Engineering practice is hiring 2025-2026 freshers for a 12-week training program covering Backstage portal customisation (TypeScript / React), software templates, Tech Radar, plugins; Crossplane Compositions for declarative AWS, Azure, GCP provisioning; golden paths and paved roads; developer self-service workflows; and Argo CD GitOps for IDP backend deployment.

Responsibilities

Build Backstage software templates that bootstrap new microservices end-to-end in 5 minutes. Author Crossplane Compositions for AWS RDS, S3, SQS, Azure Storage and GCP Cloud SQL. Maintain the Backstage Tech Radar for the client engineering org. Write Backstage plugins in TypeScript / React. Document golden paths for the IDP developer guide.

Requirements & qualifications

BE / BTech / MCA passout 2025 or 2026 with 65%+. Comfort with at least one of Go, TypeScript or Python. Basic Kubernetes (any prior exposure). React / TypeScript helpful for Backstage plugins. Strong written English for IDP documentation. Curiosity about developer experience.
