Responsibilities

Shadow senior DevOps engineers on Azure infrastructure work — observing, documenting and asking the right questions. By the end of week four, take ownership of one small repeatable task end-to-end (a CI pipeline, a Terraform module, a runbook). Pair-program on Azure infrastructure-as-code with Terraform and CloudFormation / Bicep, and on container builds with Docker. Submit pull requests for code-review on every change; do not merge to main without approval. Write Bash and Python automation scripts for the team's repetitive operational work — log rotation, backup verification, image clean-up, simple alert routing. Help triage non-critical alerts on the on-call rotation, with a senior engineer always backing you up; escalate anything you cannot resolve in 30 minutes. Document everything you learn into the team's internal wiki / runbook repository — interns who leave behind a strong knowledge base are the ones who get converted to full-time first. Build a personal portfolio of one Terraform module + one CI workflow + one observability dashboard during the internship. Recruiters reading your post-internship CV will look for exactly this.

Requirements & qualifications

Final-year B.Tech / B.E. / MCA student with strong fundamentals in operating systems, networking and at least one programming language (Python or Java preferred). Comfortable with Linux command line, Git, and Bash scripting. Familiarity with Docker, Azure free-tier services and one CI/CD tool (GitHub Actions or Jenkins) from coursework or self-study is a strong plus. Curious, self-directed, willing to ask questions.
