Responsibilities

Own end-to-end CI/CD for APPIT's product portfolio — Jenkins declarative pipelines for legacy services, GitHub Actions for newer services, and ArgoCD for GitOps-based delivery into Amazon EKS clusters. Standardise pipeline templates so that a new microservice can be production-deployable within one working day. Manage the AWS estate as code using Terraform — modules covering VPC, EKS, RDS, ElastiCache, CloudFront, Route 53, S3, IAM and ALB. Maintain the modules in a shared internal repository, version them with semantic versioning, and run terraform-plan reviews on every infrastructure pull request. Operate production EKS clusters: install and upgrade Helm-packaged platform components (NGINX Ingress, cert-manager, external-DNS, AWS Load Balancer Controller, cluster-autoscaler), configure IRSA for workload IAM, harden namespaces with NetworkPolicy and PodSecurity standards, and lead cluster-version upgrades on a quarterly cadence. Build the observability stack — Prometheus + Grafana for metrics, Loki or Elastic for logs, and OpenTelemetry for traces. Define SLOs for the top customer-facing services and integrate alerts with PagerDuty / Opsgenie. Drive Kubernetes-native security: image scanning in CI (Trivy / Grype), runtime policies (Falco / Kyverno), secrets via External Secrets Operator backed by AWS Secrets Manager, and signed images via cosign. Implement and document disaster-recovery procedures including database point-in-time restore, multi-AZ failover and cross-region S3 replication for compliance-critical buckets. Mentor junior engineers, run weekly tech-share sessions, lead at least one cost-optimisation initiative each quarter (Savings Plans, Spot, image rightsizing, tag-based showback) and participate in the on-call rotation for production incidents.

Requirements & qualifications

3-5 years of hands-on DevOps / SRE experience on AWS, of which at least 2 years on Kubernetes (EKS preferred). Strong with Docker, Terraform, Jenkins or GitHub Actions, ArgoCD or Flux, Helm, Linux administration and shell / Python scripting. Production exposure to monitoring stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK / Loki) and incident-response tooling. Practical understanding of AWS networking (VPC, subnets, NAT, route tables, security groups), IAM least-privilege, and at least one of the AWS database services (RDS / Aurora / DynamoDB). Experience supporting product teams on a sprint cadence — comfortable with Agile / Scrum / Kanban rituals. AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or CKAD / CKA certifications are a strong plus but not mandatory. B.Tech / B.E. / MCA / equivalent degree, or commensurate self-taught experience proven through public contributions.
